The Migrant Worker Project with Sewa Day

Sunday, October 5, 2014

The first Sunday of October has been celebrated as a day to do service (Sewa in Sanskrit).

"On Sewa Day, thousands of good-hearted people across the world come together to perform Sewa and experience the joy of giving in its truest sense. By participating in this collective endeavour, we hope that the seeds of Sewa are watered so that acts of kindness and public service are performed more often. Sewa Day is a catalyst in making this happen."- (

In Singapore, BridgeAble organized a picnic for Migrant workers. 50 Indian and Bangladeshi migrant workers along with 40 volunteers which included children, enjoyed a day out at Changi Beach with lots of food, singing, cricket, football and other games. The day ended with fond good byes, and promises to continue having such events.
