BridgeAble's 5th Anniversary

Sunday, June 3, 2018
BridgeAble's 5th anniversary occurred earlier this year. What better way to celebrate than at our thought leadership event on gender equality!
The setting could have been a slice of the Botanical Gardens! BridgeAble's latest thought-leadership event was hosted at the leafy 'Buzz in the Woods' cafe on Tanglin Road on 3 June 2018. The topic: gender equality.
Approximately 70 invitees made their way to listen to the story of Equal Community Foundation (ECF) and its founder Will Muir.
ECF applies an innovative approach to its mission of ending violence against women and bringing about gender equality. They focus on boys and young men; educating them to respect girls and women. Several of these boys and young men have no exposure to gender equitable behaviour. ECF brings its training service to plug this gap.
In a moderated Q&A, Will Muir took us through the impetus for starting ECF, why the empowerment of women requires the involvement of boys and men and why we all have a role to play in changing gender stereotypical mindsets.
BridgeAble was delighted to have partnered with Ashoka: Incubators for the Public, Columbia SIPA and Georgetown University Club of Singapore as outreach partners for this event.
Our event was featured as a fringe event of the then ongoing Asia Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) 2018 conference, the largest social investing conference in Asia!
